Repairing Shoelace End With Superglue

I'm sure we've all had this annoying issue at one time of our lives - the shoelace is in fine shape, the shoe is good, but the little plastic thing at the end is detached. Wrapping a tape around it doesn't really solve the problem so in this article, I will show you a neat little way to fix this issue using superglue.

Step 1: Wrap a thin piece of masking tape fairly tightly around the shoelace leaving the top open/accessible

Step 2: Use a medium superglue (e.g. Starbond EM-150). Apply a fair amount at the bottom part to serve as the stable base * You can use an accelerator (e.g. Starbond Accelerator) to speed up bonding time

Step 3: Use a thin superglue (e.g. Starbond EM-02 Super Thin Fast). Fill it to the top until you see that it's permeated down inside

Step 4: Wait for a few seconds. The bonding reaction makes the shoelace end very hot to touch for about 10-15 seconds. You can then carefully take the tape off. And that's it! All done. The shoelace end is now repaired.
