The SMT 950 T - TITAN stands out as it is our thickest and longest lasting mop disc yet. The unique fan shaped backing plate provides cooling during the toughest applications and its 5/8-11 tread allows for a quick change between discs, maximizing productivity. The SMT 950 T – Titan is ideal for weld seam work, edge work/beveling on universal metal, steel, stainless steel and high alloy stainless steel.

LONGEVITY:

• Largest advantage is the longevity of the discs compared to a standard SMT. The unique design of the trimmable discs allows the user to utilize the entirety of the flaps, giving much longer life. The hard to reach middle section of the flaps often go unused, and with the trimmable backing, the user simply has to trim the edge back and easily access the untouched new abrasive. Longer use of each disc in return means that production time is saved by less frequent disc changes.

QUICK CHANGE:

• Easy and quick disc change. The discs include a built in 5/8"-11 threaded arbor for quick and easy mounting.

COOL RUN:

• The ability to run cooler. The unique fan shape of the backing allows the disc to run cooler, giving the disc more life.
• Firm plastic backing plate allows for more aggression when needed.

The benefits at a glance Optimised performance The abrasives used have also been engineered to work with high-speed angle grinders (80 m/s) and are designed to offer a wide range of possible applications. The optimised arrangement of the grinding flaps ensures first-rate grinding performance, long service lives and optimised utilisation to the end. Sustained high performance The cloth flaps are coated with zirconia alumina, ceramic or aluminium oxide and spaced equally on the backing plate. The optimised cloth-reinforced backing guarantees the operator a fresh grit and, thus, consistent removal throughout the entire work process. Extraordinary stability The backing plates included in our SMT range are made of glass fibre or glass-fibre reinforced plastic. They are extremely hard-wearing and deliver optimal power transmission to the work piece. Tried-and-tested safety A special manufacturing process ensures an exceptionally strong bond between baking plate and grinding flaps and produces a level of break resistance that easily exceeds the provisions of the oSa and EN 13743 standards.

Form

The convex abrasive mop disc grinds a narrower surface than the flat abrasive mop disc. The more selective use of the convex disc achieves a greater stock removal rate per time unit as compared to the flat mop disc. The convex abrasive mop disc is particularly suited to working on edges and welded seams. The flat disc is primarily used for flat and surface grinding.
